How Does it Work?

How Does it Work?
  • Students will be matched with a peer mentor based on common interests, background, academics, and professional aspirations.
  • Mentors will assist mentees in navigating the many adjustments that doctoral students often face when attending a doctoral program for the first time or during a pandemic.
  • To get started, students and mentors register and complete an online survey to paint a holistic picture of their interests and experiences.
  • Mentoring pairs connect by text, phone, email, or virtual meeting platform. Once a mentor is matched with a mentee, they both decide how and how often they want to connect.
What do Mentors and Mentees Discuss?
  • How will my doctorate impact my professional options?
  • How do I balance the demands of school, responsibilities, and socializing?
  • How can I set myself up for academic, social, and career success?
  • How do I make connections with peers and professional contacts?
