Daniel Sanky
Daniel grew up in New York and developed an early interest in understanding how data can be used to solve complex real-world problems. He attended Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Information Science with a concentration in Data Science and minors in Business, Psychology, and Music. He continued his education at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medicine, where he earned a Master of Science in Biostatistics and Data Science. His research is centered on predictive modeling, healthcare analytics, and the application of data science to improve decision-making. He also served as a teaching assistant for a variety of graduate-level courses at Weill Cornell and UNC Charlotte, and as an instructor at Inspirit AI.
Beyond the classroom, Daniel has extensive experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. As an Associate Data Scientist at IQVIA, he analyzed complex healthcare marketing data, developed automated reporting and quality-control solutions, and created visualizations to help guide executive decisions. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Daniel enjoys cooking, swimming, racket sports, and board games, and is involved in Cru, Campus Bible Fellowship, and CLT Together.
As a Graduate Life Fellow, Daniel hopes to create opportunities for graduate students to connect across disciplines, share experiences, and learn from one another. He believes that strong academic communities can enhance both personal and professional growth. He is particularly interested in supporting students as they transition between industry and academia and fostering connections among graduate students both within and beyond their departments.
