Reyhaneh—“Rey” to friends and colleagues—is a PhD candidate in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology program at UNC Charlotte. With a background in pharmacy and a passion for computational science, she brings a valuable interdisciplinary perspective to her work. Originally from Tehran, Iran, Rey is deeply committed to connecting people with resources and creating sustainable solutions to enhance the graduate student experience, especially for international students.
At UNC Charlotte, she has co-founded the High-Performance Computing Group, served as a Graduate Life Ambassador, and led the Iranian Student Organization. Rey thrives on building meaningful connections, exchanging stories, and fostering inclusive spaces where students from all walks of life can thrive. Through her academic and community efforts, she continues to bridge gaps and champion student support at every level. She always welcomes opportunities to connect—feel free to reach out!
