Ebenezer Boakye Yiadom

Ebenezer Boakye Yiadom grew up in Ghana and is a Ph.D. student in Infrastructure and Environmental Systems at UNC Charlotte and is also pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems. Ebenezer earned his master’s degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Wyoming. He works in Dr. Ian Chang’s research group and his research examines atmospheric aerosols, dust radiative effects, and air quality using satellite observations.

Before coming to UNC Charlotte, Ebenezer served as an African SWIFT Ambassador in Ghana, where he participated in climate-science outreach activities. He previously served as a Graduate Life Ambassador with the Center for Graduate Life & Learning. At UNC Charlotte, he is President of Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) and Secretary of the Ghanaian Student Association.

As a Graduate Life Fellow, Ebenezer hopes to create welcoming opportunities for graduate students to connect across departments, learn about campus resources, and build community. He is especially interested in helping graduate students feel well represented and making their research, achievements, and contributions more visible across campus. Outside of research and student leadership, Ebenezer enjoys music and is currently learning to play the saxophone.
