Fall 2019 Graduate Writing Retreat

Dates/Times of Retreat:
Friday, October 4 (1:00-6:00pm) (Plus optional early bird Dissertation and Thesis Formatting Workshop with Dr. Aura Young at 12 pm)
Saturday, October 5 (10:00am-4:00pm) (Plus optional early bird Writing Productivity Workshop with Dr. Lisa Russell-Pinson at 9:00 am. Dr. Lisa Russell-Pinson will also be available for one-on-one consultations, by advance appointment only, on Saturday.)
Sunday, October 6 (10:00am-4:00pm)
The Graduate Writing Retreat provides a multi-day opportunity for graduate students, faculty and staff, and members of the community who want to make progress on a large writing project. The retreat helps writers learn to write more productively by providing several crucial elements:
- A quiet space to work
- Structured writing time
- Peer motivation and support
- Writing-related resources
A non-refundable registration fee which covers costs related to supplies, food, and instruction is required. A substantial snack will be provided on Friday, lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday, and there will be coffee throughout (of course!). Please see the three-tiered fee structure below:
$20 for all enrolled UNC Charlotte graduate students
$30 for all UNC Charlotte faculty/staff
$50 for members of the community
