Laura coordinates, promotes, and supports a broad range of graduate-student-focused events, initiatives, and processes in the Center for Graduate Life & Learning. These include workshops, competitions, retreats, social events, professional development series, and required training modules. Other main responsabilities are:
- coordinating CGLL outreach to regional employers through the Accelerate to Industry initiative
- managing the TA training for new Teaching Assistants
- building academic courses for the Graduate School
- coordinating the Graduate Life Ambassador program
- engaging with Charlotte alumni with a particular emphasis on career
- managing the onboarding process and paperwork for the Charlotte postdoctoral scholars
If she were to select three of her favorite activities at CGLL, these would be: organizing 3MT competition, planning huge events like the New Student Welcome Reception and Postdoc processing!
Laura has a master’s degree in Political Science from University of Milano and a master’s degree in Teaching Italian as a Second Language from ICOTEA Milano. She is also a professional Journalist registered in the Professional Order of Journalists (Milano).
Before joining the CGLL, she had several years of corporate experience in the HR and professional development field.
Laura dedicates her free time to ultra-trail running, motorcycling and cooking for friends…. and she is also a passionate Italian language Instructor!
