Mike is a creative academic with a love for research. He is currently a graduate (Ph.D.) research student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering carrying out research on mitigating the challenges of frost action using engineered water repellency on a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project. He is the immediate past Vice-President of the Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) (2021-2022) and serves on a number of committees representing graduate students’ interests. As an international student, Mike brings a unique perspective in advocating for and helping graduate students get the best campus experience through diverse graduate student-led/focused communities and activities. When he is not in the laboratory working, he enjoys soccer, adventure gaming and the great outdoors exploring the beautiful landscapes of North Carolina.
