Many researchers are interested in sharing their work and expertise outside of the scientific community, but are inexperienced at talking about their research with public audiences. This workshop for graduate students and early-career researchers will present attendees with best practices and tips for engaging non-specialist audiences in scientific discussions and for sharing their research with the news media. Attendees will learn engagement strategies for early-career researchers interested in broadening the impact of their work beyond academia, tips for when and how to talk to journalists about your science research, and strategies to help attendees prepare for media interviews.
