Guided Tour Facilitated by: Dr. Jeff Gillman, Director, UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens
The CGL is here to support the success of graduate students, professionally and academically. We’re also here to coordinate resources and programming that contribute to the holistic wellness of graduate students! In the end, we know your success is largely based on your ability to manage your stress. According to a 2019 study done by the University of Michigan, just a 20-minute walk in nature can significantly reduce the stress hormone, cortisol!
The good news is, you need not have a car or an expensive gym membership to help alleviate some of this stress! In case you weren’t aware, UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens is home to 10 acres of gardens which offers the largest diversity of plants in one location in Charlotte. Join Dr. Jeff Gillman for a unique tour of the Susie Harwood Gardens and the Van Landingham Glen. Our adventure will end with an educational stroll through the relaxing Greenhouse. Bring your friends and/or families!
Enjoy the fall colors, learn about the many flowering trees and plants, smell some dirt and fresh air, and feel more relaxed!
Students will meet in the McMillan Greenhouse to begin the tour.
