The ability to personally connect with an interviewer is one of the most important factors in successfully landing an internship or position. That small talk during the first few minutes really does matter, and being aware of current events, including sporting events like March Madness matters. Learn from the University Career Center’s Assistant Director and Career Coach, Lori Brasile, how to leverage your knowledge of this cultural phenomenon to make professional connections.
Then, learn about the NCAA College Basketball Tournament and the Bracket Challenge with the CGLL’s Events and Projects Assistant, Hannah Williams. Charlotte grad students, postdocs, staff, and faculty are invited to compete in our Bracket Challenge for prizes & bragging rights! Use our challenge as an opportunity to test out your small talk knowledge as you interview this spring for jobs and internships.
