The Friends of the Center for Graduate Life & Learning program is an opportunity for alumni, professionals, and any other passionate, talented individuals to connect with the UNC Charlotte Graduate School and make a meaningful impact on the next generation of graduate students.
Whether you’re in industry, academia, government, healthcare, entrepreneurship, or something else entirely, your experience, insights, and network can help current students navigate their professional and personal journeys.
Our goal is simple: to create a bridge between UNC Charlotte’s graduate students and the real world.
Friends of the CGLL support students by sharing expertise, opening doors, and fostering a culture of mentorship, inclusion, and professional growth.
How You Can Get Involved
There are many ways to contribute, all flexible and designed to fit your schedule and career stage:
Share Your Experience
- Speak on a panel or lead a workshop
- Talk about your career path, industry, or graduate school experience
- Offer advice on job searching, internships, or professional development
Support Community & Belonging
- Join networking events or social mixers
- Connect with international and first-generation students
- Help foster a welcoming and inclusive graduate community
Create Career Pathways
- Promote internships, job openings, or company visits
- Serve as an industry or alumni connector
- Participate as a judge or mentor in programs like A2i and 3MT
Collaborate with CGLL Programs
